Fred Northup, Jr. is on stage over 100 nights a year as a nationally-known fundraising auctioneer, emcee, and comedy improviser.  For 10 years, Fred was a company member of Seattle's famed "TheatreSports" comedy improv group, and he travels the country emceeing major events. Emcee clients include Turner Broadcasting, Microsoft, Starbucks, Boeing, Amazon, Zillow, Expedia, and more.

 

As a fundraising auctioneer, Fred helps raise over 20 million dollars each year for non-profits all across the country.  His charity auction events range from small schools to multi-million dollar galas, with repeat clients that include Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center, Seattle Children's Hospital, JDRF, Pilchuck Glass School, City of Hope, The Museum of Flight, The Auction of Washington Wines, Lakeside School, Walla Walla Valley Wine, Homeward Pet, MoPop, and more.

 

On camera, Fred Northup's highlights include multiple appearances on NBC's The [206], NBC's Up Late NW, hosting Be the Next Microsoft Employee and The Xbox Accessories Show for Microsoft, and appearing as "Captain Fred McGilicutty" - the hilarious national spokesperson for Copper Mountain Ski Resort. Off camera, Fred was heard weekly as one of Andy Savage's morning show sidekicks on 1077 The End. His voice appears in the video games "Midtown Madness 3" and "Project Gotham Racing", as well as in numerous radio and TV campaigns.

In addition to his work on stage and on camera, Fred Northup runs a video and event production company, Southdown Creative.  He's also the co-founder of RainGlobes, the globe that rains!  When not entertaining the masses, Fred can be found in Seattle entertaining his wife (and fellow auctioneer), Ashley, and their two children.
